Loleatta Holloway (Chicago, 11/05/1946 - 03/21/2011) was an African American soul singer. Helped by his high-pitched voice and powerful, has developed their skills in singing gospel choirs of the religious communities of Chicago, singing with his mother in the Holloway Community Singers and Albertina Walker The Caravans gospel group. And that's where she was noticed and hired for the musical Do not Bother Me, I Can not Cope. After some touring, binds to its producer and husband Floyd Smith with his record label (The Aware) record albums Loleatta (1973) and Cry To Me (1975). After the closure of Aware, in 1976, Holloway binds to the producer Norman Harris and his label Gold Mind Records, which will publish four albums (the last in 1980). Already become legend in the world of disco music in 1979, Holloway recorded a song that the more revenue in the history of this kind: Love Sensation (written by Dan Hartman), who topped the U.S. Dance Chart and # 5 in UK Dance Chart. Other songs recorded by the Historic Holloway are: Hit and Run (# 3 U.S. Dance), Crash Goes Love (# 5 U.S. Dance), What Goes Around Comes Around, Strong Enough (mixed by Larry Levan). In early 2011, his health deteriorated rapidly due to an illness, and disappears into a coma on March 21.
